What a low Glucose Post Prandial means, and common causes

Sugar below about 70 mg/dL two hours after eating, which is unusual and worth mentioning if it comes with sweating, shakiness or a racing heart.

Common causes: Diabetes medicines, reactive hypoglycaemia after a high-carbohydrate meal, and after weight-loss surgery.

Frequently asked questions

Below 140 mg/dL two hours after the meal. 140 to 199 is prediabetes and 200 or above is in the diabetes range.
Two hours from the first bite of the meal, not from when you finished. Starting the clock late is a common reason for a falsely low result.
This is a common early pattern in type 2 diabetes, where the body clears glucose slowly after eating before fasting levels rise. An HbA1c usually comes next.
Do ghante baad 140 mg/dL se kam normal hai. 200 se upar aaye to doctor se milna zaroori hai.
