President Droupadi Murmu has officially inaugurated the Ayushman Bhav campaign and the Ayushman Bhava portal in a groundbreaking virtual event held at the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar. This event signifies a major step forward in India's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) pursuit. The primary goal of this campaign is to improve the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services, particularly for marginalized and underprivileged populations.
With "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas," Ayushman Bhav will emerge as a significant endeavor in the healthcare sector. This initiative is being executed with the motto of taking everyone together, ensuring no one is left behind.
The vision of Ayushman Bhav Campaign
The Ayushman Bhav Campaign is in harmony to establish Healthy Villages' and 'Healthy Gram Panchayats,' serving as the foundation for achieving Universal Health Coverage nationwide. Panchayats that effectively implement healthcare programs will be honored with the prestigious title 'Ayushman Gram Panchayat' or 'Ayushman Urban Ward,' signifying their commitment to ensuring equal access to healthcare services.
Key Features and Highlights of the Ayushman Bhav Campaign
- Accomplished village councils will be declared as Ayushman Gram Panchayats.
- The campaign objectives include streamlining the distribution of Ayushman cards, creating ABHA IDs, and promoting awareness regarding healthcare programs and various diseases, particularly non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
- It consists of three elements: Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Melas at Health and Wellness Centres, and Ayushman Sabhas held in each village and panchayat.
Goals of Ayushman Bhav:
- Access to Ayushman Cards: The campaign seeks to simplify citizens' access to Ayushman cards.
- ABHA IDs Generation: It aims to generate ABHA IDs to streamline healthcare services.
- Disease Awareness: Ayushman Bhav will also promote awareness of critical health programs and conditions, including non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
Three Components of Ayushman Bhav:
Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0: Bringing healthcare services directly to people's doorsteps.
Ayushman Melas at HWC and CHC: Organizing health and wellness events at Health and Wellness Centers (HWC) and Community Health Clinics (CHC).
Ayushman Sabhas: Hosting health meetings in every village and panchayat to engage communities in healthcare discussions.
A Multi-Ministerial Approach:
President Murmu commended the Ayushman Bhav campaign for its multi-ministerial strategy, underlining its potential to extend healthcare services to even the most remote areas of India. This approach plays a vital role in achieving the ambitious objective of delivering healthcare to every citizen.
The Antyodaya Philosophy:
Emphasizing the concept of "antyodaya", the President praised the involvement of local governance and announced that gram panchayats meeting their healthcare targets would receive recognition as Ayushman Gram Panchayats.
The Seva Pakhwada Campaign:
The President praised the Seva Pakhwada Campaign, scheduled from September 17 to October 2, which aims to ensure that essential health services reach every individual. This demonstrates the government's dedication to promptly achieving sustainable development goals.
Digital Inclusion:
The President also applauded India's digital inclusion efforts, ensuring every village and district has access to healthcare facilities, significantly contributing to the nationwide reach of healthcare services.
