I had 3 vitamin b12 injections after 6 months after the last dose I developed really bad itchy skin and prickly heat all over my body the itching is so bad that I end up scratching and making my skin bleed I have scars all over my body. The heat has calm down but the itching isn’t going away it caused me eczema I have tried various cream and antihistamine but nothing is working it is coming to a year now am getting so stressed as it’s causing my skin to go dark in the areas that am scratching. I believe it’s the injection that caused it as I never experienced anything like. Is there anything I can do? Is this a permanent side effect. I also got acne in some parts of my face and body aswell.

It's possible your symptoms are related to the B12 injections, although uncommon. Consult a dermatologist or allergist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Avoid scratching to prevent further irritation. Moisturize skin with gentle products. Communicate openly with healthcare provider for the best solution.

I am 62 and I am taking a vit b12 spray under my tongue. I take esomaprazole for heartburn and this can reduce the ability to absorb vit b12 hence mt taking the oral spray. I have been taking 1 or 2 more sprays than I should and have been experiencing itchiness all over...could this be the cause?

I have pernicious anemia , that’s what I was told by my dr. He started giving me vitamin b12 injections, been taking them for a few years, I got a portal, and was checking my blood work, my b12. Was 6000. I was told nothing by my dr. I stopped taking it myself, why would a dr. Not say anything about the level.

Your doctor probably didn't ever read the results...today doctors are so overworked due to the requirements put in place by Obamacare that they no longer have time to be real doctors. Instead they spend their time insessantly fighting insurance companies and charting. If I were you I would educate myself on what different lab values mean so you can monitor and take charge of your own health...

High B12 levels from injections are common, but your doctor should have discussed this with you. Communication is key in your treatment.
