Liver echotexture means how your liver tissue appears on an ultrasound. The scan creates an image using sound waves, and the radiologist examines the texture and brightness of the liver to determine if it appears normal or abnormal. If your report indicates “altered” or “coarse echotexture,” don’t panic. This finding does not reveal exactly what liver condition you have. It can be observed in a variety of liver disorders, so your doctor will review the entire ultrasound report, as well as your symptoms, medical history, and blood tests, to determine what it implies in your case.
