Blood, Anemia & Hematology
Published on 29 September 2026
Being anaemic implies that your blood contains less haemoglobin than normal, reducing its ability to transport oxygen throughout your body. Iron deficiency is a major reason, but anemia can also be caused by vitamin deficiencies, blood loss, certain chronic illnesses, or other medical disorders. Tiredness, weakness, dizziness, headaches, and shortness of breath are common symptoms, but other people may not have any at all. A complete blood count (CBC) can help diagnose anemia. Additional blood tests may be required to determine the underlying reason and the appropriate treatment.
