No tablet can safely make your period start immediately. Pregnancy, stress, weight changes, PCOS, thyroid difficulties, or other hormonal disorders can cause a late or missed period. After determining the cause, a doctor may prescribe a hormone, such as a progestin, to initiate withdrawal bleeding in some circumstances. The medication and dosage are determined by your health and the cause of the missed menstruation. If pregnancy is possible, get a pregnancy test before taking any medication. Avoid taking hormonal medications on your own to induce periods, especially if you haven’t ruled out pregnancy.
