The average normal body temperature is around 98.6°F (37°C), although it can vary slightly from person to person. For most healthy adults, body temperature may range between 97°F and 99°F (36.1°C–37.2°C), depending on factors such as age, activity level, time of day, and how it is measured. Temperature is generally lower in the morning and may rise slightly in the evening. Exercise, illness, and hormonal changes can also affect body temperature. A reading slightly above or below 98.6°F does not necessarily indicate a health problem. However, if you have a persistent fever or symptoms such as chills, weakness, or body aches, consult a doctor.
