Mouth ulcers can develop due to several factors, including stress, lack of sleep, and frequent consumption of spicy foods. Nutritional deficiencies, particularly low levels of vitamin B12, iron, and folic acid, may also contribute to their formation. Other common causes include accidentally biting your cheek, using a hard-bristled toothbrush, hormonal changes, and immune system disorders. In some cases, food sensitivities or allergies may also trigger mouth ulcers. Most minor ulcers heal within 1–2 weeks, but if they persist or keep recurring, consult a doctor.
