LDL cholesterol is considered "bad" cholesterol because it sticks to the inside of your blood vessels and slowly blocks them. This makes it harder for blood to flow properly. Over time, this raises your chance of getting a heart attack or stroke. It's best to keep your LDL level under 100 mg/dL. Your body still needs a little cholesterol to work well, so LDL isn't all bad in small amounts. You can keep it under control by eating healthy fats, exercising often, and taking medicines if your doctor tells you to.
