There is no guaranteed instant way to relieve constipation, but there are a few simple changes that can make passing stool easier. Put your feet on a small footstool so your knees are slightly higher than your hips, lean forward, and try to relax your belly and pelvic muscles. Take slow breaths and avoid forceful straining, which can make hemorrhoids or anal pain worse. For longer-term relief, drink enough fluids, eat more fiber-rich foods, stay physically active, and do not ignore the urge to use the toilet. If constipation keeps coming back or you have severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or blood in your stool, you should definitely consult your doctor.
