Celebrated every year on 8th March, International Women’s Day is the day to celebrate women's courage, strength & achievements. Since the beginning of time, women have been breaking barriers, shattering stereotypes, and making history. They contribute to different fields of society, be it science, literature, politics, or art. Despite all the progress, women still face obstacles and inequality in the workplace, home, and society at large. No matter what, women are unstoppable! They stand all tall with their love, passion, and positive attitude. However, while nurturing the family or making a place in society for herself, she forgets to take care of her health.

Being the powerhouse of a family, she is always on her toes. And while doing so, she forgets that her physical and mental health is compromised. You are a woman & you are wonderful, but let’s not ignore that you deserve care too. Wellness should be everyone’s priority, but if you are a woman, it is a necessity. And being fit is not only limited to eating healthy, exercising, or stress management but requires routine testing too.

With the thought to improve women's health, Redcliffe Labs offer Women Health Packages that let you take charge of your well-being. The focus is to help identify early warning signs and diagnose potential problems before things turn ugly.

Important Health Tests For Women:

  • Thyroid Profile Test: Thyroid can affect both men and women, but still common and a serious issue among women. Thyroid hormones are responsible for managing the reproductive system in women. Therefore, their levels should always be balanced, as it otherwise increases their likelihood of developing thyroid disorders like hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. Women should get their thyroid function tested once a year to measure thyroid levels and diagnose the problem (if any).
  • Anemia Test: Another disease that hurts more women than men is iron-deficiency anemia. More common in women of reproductive age due to menstrual blood loss or during pregnancy, anemia is the disease in which your body doesn’t get enough iron, which it needs to carry oxygen through your blood all over the body. Your doctors may suggest Iron Test or Anemia Test determine the condition and initiate treatment.
  • Arthritis Test: 1 in 4 women, compared to 1 in 5 men, are more at risk of arthritis and experience the worst pain. Screening the problem at the earliest is the only way to subside the risks, minimize the complications and manage the symptoms effectively. Hence, periodic Rheumatoid Arthritis Screening or Arthritis Test in women is crucial to stay ahead of the problem.
  • STD Test: Often symptomless, STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) are another cause of concern among women. Diagnosing the infection early is the only way to manage symptoms and minimize your risks of developing complications.
  • Breast Cancer Screening: Aside from skin cancer, breast cancer is common in women that can lead to complications and even death if left unaddressed. The purpose is to detect if cancerous cells are present in the body to confirm breast cancer and initiate the treatment before it spreads throughout the body.
  • Blood Pressure Screening: High blood pressure is a severe issue taking over health. Routine screening is the only way to make it manageable and should be done to decrease overall risks.
  • Fertility Test: Apart from a sedentary lifestyle, other factors influence fertility health due to hormonal changes or hormonal disorders. It is suggested that women should go for fertility tests or hormone tests to find the problem early and manage the condition effectively.

Besides the above tests, keeping fingers on the pulse, taking even the slightest sign or symptom seriously, and considering periodic Full Body Checkups are necessary. Routine health checkup is the key to unlocking the doors of good health and happy living. So, make it a part of your life.
