What is the test for?
The test determines the iron concentration in the blood and also determines the efficiency of the body to transport iron in the blood. It can also confirm a diagnosis of iron overload or iron deficiency.
When to get the test?
The test is ideal to get if your complete blood count shows low levels of hemoglobin or if you are showing signs of iron deficiency or overload.
What are the normal levels?
The normal range of iron in the blood is between 35.5 and 44.9 percent for adult women and 38.3 to 48.6 percent for adult men.
