Treating thyroid symptoms solely depends on whether you have an underactive or overactive thyroid.
An underactive thyroid causes hypothyroidism, which is treated with supplementation with synthetic thyroid hormones, otherwise known as levothyroxine.
An overactive thyroid causes hyperthyroidism, which is treated with a variety of treatment options, including taking anti-thyroid medications, radioactive iodine, or undergoing surgery to remove the thyroid gland permanently. In case of removal of the thyroid gland, the patient has to be on levothyroxine for the rest of their life.
KaustubhKeymaster2 years, 1 month agoThe third trimester is the most important phase in any pregnancy. With a few weeks until you give birth, being considerate of the exercises you are doing is very important.
You don’t want to indulge in any exercises that involve rigorous jerking or movement of the body. Some exercises like bouncing, hopping, and skipping are completely off the charts.
Besides that, you also want to avoid any kinds of exercises or yoga poses that require you to lie down flat on the ground. So, prenatal yoga poses like savasana are also not allowed during the third trimester.
KaustubhKeymaster2 years, 1 month agoHyperthyroidism results from a hyperactive thyroid gland, which results in the abundant production of thyroid hormones in the blood. This leads to a barrage of symptoms, including unexpected weight loss, fatigue, feeling hot, muscle weakness, goiter, menstrual cycle irregularities, etc.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the dos and don’ts of hyperthyroidism:
Dos of Hyperthyroidism:
- Eat a low-sodium diet
- Increase the intake of goitrogens, including cruciferous vegetables
- Eat iron-rich foods since iron levels drastically drop in hyperthyroidism
- Supplement with the prescribed dosage of calcium and Vitamin D
- Eat anti-inflammatory foods like salmon, nuts, etc.
Don’ts of Hyperthyroidism:
- Avoid eating iodine-rich foods like seaweed, sushi, kelp, etc.
- Avoid eating eggs, iodized salt
- Avoid eating processed meats, celery, lettuce, etc. that are high in nitrites
- Avoid including excess caffeine in your diet

KaustubhKeymaster2 years, 1 month agoFirst thing first, I’m proud of you that you’re HITTING the REVERSE button from an unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy one.
Is it too late to change your unhealthy lifestyle? Maybe you’ve eaten one too many hamburgers or made it a daily habit to buy salty chips from the vending machine. Maybe you’ve purchased a gym membership only to stop going after a month. Poor food and exercise choices over prolonged periods of time may lead to severe health consequences. But does that mean it’s too late to change? Can a history of inactivity and unhealthy eating be reversed?
It turns out that successfully countering years of poor lifestyle choices and plaque buildup is complicated and requires plenty of elbow grease, but it’s not impossible.
Let’s discuss ways to do:
- Be a project manager and target the most important areas
- Be prepared for a teardown of unhelpful habits
- Let go of perfectionism, you don’t need “a grand design”
- Do a bit of DIY with the right knowledge
- Make a floor plan for success
- Celebrate the move into your new abode!
It’s never too late to renovate your lifestyle
The good news is that some of the causes can be undone with lifestyle renovations. Changes in lifestyle habits can quickly improve complications and health risks related to poor food choices, physical inactivity, and constant stress. This can help ease pre-existing disease severity and improve prognosis, but even more importantly can prevent serious diseases from developing in the first place.

KaustubhKeymaster2 years, 1 month agoYou can develop an UTI by exposure to bacteria that enter through the urethra and, then the bladder. Mostly the infection develops in the bladder but can also spread to the kidneys if you ignore it for long. Most of the time your body can get rid of these bacteria, but in a few cases, there is an increased risk of getting UTIs.
Women are more prone to urine problems as their urethra is shorter and closer to the uretheral opening. In addition, you are more likely to get an infection after sexual activity, using unhygenic washrooms etc.
In women, menopause also increases the risk.
Males can also get UTIs, and it is a more compliceted infections for them. The condition is common in males of older age as then you are more likely to develop non-cancerous enlargement of their prostate gland. This enlargement of the prostate gland compresses the bladder neck and makes it harder for you to urinate, and if the bladder doesn’t empty completely, it can create problems.
KaustubhKeymaster2 years, 1 month agoAs per research, there is a direct connection between your stress and your bladder. You can best relate it to your body and mind’s flight-or-fight response. In many cases, it has been noted that when you are under stress feel the urge to urinate is more. But sometimes you may also feel difficulty in urinating. However, stress by itself does not cause urinary problems, but it can make you more prone to infections and illness by harming the immune system. In addition, stress can trigger or worsen the UTI symptoms as it affects urinary bladder function and exacerbates symptoms of urinary bladder dysfunction in overactive bladder, bladder outlet obstruction etc.
KaustubhKeymaster2 years, 1 month agoUTIs are one of the most common infections you can be affected by. You will have to take a course of antibiotics to get a speedy recovery as they will not go away on their own. If left untreated, it can lead to many severe complications and health problems. The untreated UTI infection can also spread to your kidneys and even into your blood stream and can be life-threatening in a few cases. Along with the medication, you can also try some effective home remedies to feel better sooner and to reduce the possibility of recurrent urinary infections.
