Getting UTI, again and again, can be very difficult as it can make you feel like you spend half of the time in the washroom. Sometimes despite best efforts your UTI can keep coming back, which is called recurrent UTI or chronic UTI. Generally three or more UTI infections in one year are termed as a recurrent infection that happens when the bacteria enters the urinary tract from the outside. You can be prone to recurrent UTIs for many causes, like being sexually active, going through menopause, having certain medical conditions, just being prone to UTIs etc. However recurrent UTIs can be treated with antibiotics and the right precautions can prevent it form coming back.

Redcliffe LabsModerator1 year, 4 months agoIf you experience recurrent UTIs, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional. They can help identify any underlying factors contributing to the infections and recommend appropriate treatments and preventive measures. Depending on the frequency and severity of the UTIs, your doctor may conduct further tests, provide tailored advice, and, if necessary, refer you to a specialist. Drinking plenty of water, practicing good hygiene, and urinating after sexual activity are some general measures that may help reduce the risk of UTIs. However, always seek professional medical advice for a comprehensive evaluation and personalized management plan.
