If a person drinks too little water, their urine will also be more thick and concentrated. It could also be a sign of urinary tract infection (UTI), proteinuria (excess protein in urine) or hematuria (blood in urine) — all of which may point to problems with the kidney or bladder. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or some foods can also affect urine consistency.
