As per research, there is a direct connection between your stress and your bladder. You can best relate it to your body and mind’s flight-or-fight response. In many cases, it has been noted that when you are under stress feel the urge to urinate is more. But sometimes you may also feel difficulty in urinating. However, stress by itself does not cause urinary problems, but it can make you more prone to infections and illness by harming the immune system. In addition, stress can trigger or worsen the UTI symptoms as it affects urinary bladder function and exacerbates symptoms of urinary bladder dysfunction in overactive bladder, bladder outlet obstruction etc.
