The symptoms of thyroid disorder depend on what type you are diagnosed with. Generally, the symptoms of hypothyroidism differ from that of hyperthyroidism.
Symptoms of hypothyroidism include:
- Fatigue
- Irritability or signs of depression
- Heightened sensitivity to cold
- Constipation
- Dry and flaky skin
- Muscle weakness
- Being forgetful
- Dry and coarse hair texture
- Irregular menstrual cycles
- Heavy flow during menstrual cycles
Symptoms of hyperthyroidism include:
- Being jittery or anxious
- Weight loss
- Issues getting quality sleep
- Goiter or enlarged thyroid gland
- Muscle weakness
- Tremors
- Irregular menstrual cycles
- Heightened sensitivity to heat
- Eye irritation
