When compared to other exercise regimes, yoga is fairly safe to do during your pregnancy. However, there are exceptions to every rule and the same applies to prenatal yoga as well. Your aim is to avoid any kind of yoga that puts pressure on the abdomen, involves deep twists, or requires lying flat on the ground.
Some of the most common yoga poses that you should avoid during pregnancy are:
- Handstand pose
- Boat pose
- Half prayer twisting pose
- Half moon pose
- Corpse pose (third trimester)
- Cobra pose
- Full wheel pose
- Locust pose
