Diabetes often imposes symptoms that are hard to distinguish from regular experiences in life. This is one of the reasons why most people get a late diagnosis. Despite when you are diagnosed, diabetes remains a static concern throughout, especially because of its progressive nature.
You should be worried if you are experiencing symptoms like:
- Unexpected weight loss without trying
- Discharge of protein or ketone bodies through the urine
- Feeling tingling sensation or numbness in the body’s extremities
- Sores and wounds that take a longer time to heal
- Red or swollen gums
- Recurring infections
If you notice any or multiple of these symptoms, it could indicate that your diabetes isn’t controlled. Seeing a doctor immediately is thus ideal.
