There are primarily two types of diabetes that we ponder on the diagnosis for. It’s either type-1 diabetes (which affects the body’s insulin production) or type-2 diabetes (which affects the inability to properly utilize the produced insulin) in the body.
Ideally, the only way to determine the type of diabetes you have is through a series of blood tests, including blood fasting levels, HbA1C, glucose tolerance test, etc. These tests will determine whether or not you have diabetes. Once that’s confirmed, the next step is to determine the type of diabetes you have.
