Fruits are great for our bodies. They are a source of natural sugars, fibers, vitamins, minerals, etc. But, not every fruit that you come across is ideal for a diabetes patient. It is because some fruits have a higher concentration of natural sugar, which can lead to elevated blood glucose levels.
Hence, avoid the following fruits if you are diabetic:
- Watermelon
- Overly ripe bananas
- Pineapple
- Sweetened cranberries
- Raisins
- Figs
- Tangerines
- Mangoes
- Cherries
- Lychees
- Kiwi
When we mention “avoid”, it isn’t about entirely stopping eating the fruit. One two pieces or slices of these fruits won’t have as bad of an implication on the body.
