Type-1 diabetes results in elevated blood glucose levels due to improper insulin production from the pancreas. This leads to a sustained risk of hyperglycemia in the patient, especially without a diagnosis and relevant treatment.
Since it’s insulin-dependent diabetes, it is a chronic condition, meaning that you’d have to either get insulin shots or be on an insulin pump for the rest of your life.
Some of the potent symptoms are:
- Excess thirst
- Frequent urination
- Fatigue and weakness
- Excess hunger
- Weight loss
- Mood swings and irritability
- Blurry vision
Ensure to keep an eye out for these symptoms in your children since type-1 is typically diagnosed in the juvenile stages.
