While type-1 diabetes is a chronic disease, it doesn’t normally get worse over time if the patient is receiving the treatment on time. On the flip side, type-2 diabetes is a progressive disease that will get worse over time if the patient isn’t on the right medication or they aren’t sticking to a healthy lifestyle and diet.
You will know your diabetes is getting worse if you experience:
- Tingling sensation in the extremities
- Numbness in the hands and feet
- Elevated blood pressure levels
- A sudden increase in appetite
- Trouble seeing at night
- Kidney complications
- Protein discharge through urine
Most of these symptoms suggest possibilities of nerve damage or renal damage, which can take a turn for the worse without timely treatment.
