Overview
Obesity is no doubt a progressive condition but it is manageable and reversible too. Depending on your age, potential risk factors and causes, your doctor will devise a comprehensive treatment plan that works for you and provides tangible results.
How is Obesity Treated?
With a formal diagnosis, your doctor will also put you on an individual treatment plan. This might include:
- Dietary changes
- Increasing the daily activity
- Including mindfulness practices
- Focusing on a uniform sleep schedule
- Switching medications
- Weight loss surgeries (in extreme cases)
Besides the standard treatment, your doctor will also suggest frequent check-ins with a dietician or nutritionist to ensure that you are eating right and not eating less.
Will Obesity Go Away?
Obesity isn’t the standard flu that’s temporary and often self-healing. Obesity is a chronic, progressive medical disorder, which will get worse if relevant interventions aren’t taken. So, if you think that you’ll suddenly lose all the excess weight magically, that isn’t how things happen.
